Fever:
"Luckily, man's physical body has a natural defense mechanism by which to clear from itself the putrifying residues which collect from the eating of meat. This is the function of fever. When an individual runs a fever, it is common experience that the body's appetite all but disappears. The sight or smell of food causes queasiness, and usually only liquids can be taken."
"What is happening is that the body is forcing its inhabitant, the conscious personality, to fast, for the body knows that only in the fasting state will it be able to discharge the toxins and poisons which have accumulated due to the harmful eating habits to which it has been subjected."
"When one fasts, the various cells and organs of the body proceed to dump their toxins and poisons into the blood stream (by way of the lymphatics), which soon becomes heavily charged with these noxious materials. The kidneys then begin the task of filtering the harmful substances out of the blood."
"The build-up of toxins in the blood is the principal reason for the headaches experienced during fever, and the overworking of the kidneys is the cause of the back pain which is commonly reported in fever cases."
"If all men would fast on a regular basis out of choice, they would greatly reduce the likelihood of developing fever-type illnesses, even if their diets were not purified by the elimination of dead flesh. Naturally, still better health would be quickly attained by restricting the diet to non-animal sources of protein."
The Five Senses:
"Every input into the physical, through one of the 5 physical senses, is first sent up through the brain and the lower mind to The Higher or Soul Mind, there analyzed and interpreted, and then the meaning or significance of the event filters back down to the conscious mind to be imprinted at last upon the physical brain's memory complex. This is not to say that any great time lapse is involved in the process. In real terms, the procedure is practically instantaneous."
"What this process does is to constantly remind the individual, at the subconscious level, that he is not merely a physical being with no components outside of the physical body. Autism:

It was not meant that any human soul should cut itself adrift from the main body of Humanity."
"The cure which has been devised by The Guides Who tend The Human Flock is to gather the powerful thought-energies of isolation and separation which the hermit soul had projected in its earlier lives, and to cause these energies to incarnate along with the entering soul as part of The Aetheric Body Itself."

Anorexia Nervosa:
"The condition of Anorexia Nervosa is a direct result of a past life in which food was over-emphasized and illness resulted from over-eating. The previous life of gluttony would usually have caused marked Obesity, and complications arising from the over-weight would normally have led to death at a relatively young age."
"Very often, a soul learns the most by contemplating the manner and cause of its death in a life just ended, and, in the case in question, a very clear connection would have been made by the soul between the gluttony and the loss of the physical body through death. This would have been all the more traumatic in view of the attachment to physical pleasure which the glutton exhibits. Hence, the soul would view over-eating as having a lethal aspect, and this concept would have been brought into the present life at the subconscious level."
"A triggering experience is required in order to raise the subconscious memory to the conscious level. This comes about typically as a confrontation with someone who is obese and quite ill. The convergence of these 2 factors, illness and obesity, awakens the slumbering memory of the past gluttonous life and its untimely end, and the individual may react, or rather over-react, by embarking upon a drastic weight-reduction program -- even where there is no Obesity to begin with -- often coupled with an obsession regarding exercise."
"The reason why this condition is noted almost exclusively with young females is related to the access which women have to their subconscious memories and to the emphasis which modern society places on slimness for women, particularly in advertising. It is hardly possible for a young woman to avoid the idea that a slim figure is a must, and, when the triggering confrontation (illness and Obesity) is encountered, the combination is sometimes enough to initiate the obsession in question."
Warts:
"The symbolic meaning of all warts is basically the same. They represent some deeply anchored failing or flaw in The Higher Self which has been allowed to manifest directly upon the skin in order that there could be a constant reminder, at the subconscious level, regarding the presence of the flaw."
"As to the nature of the flaw, this must be determined from the particular portion of the body which is affected. For example, warts on the nose represent a flaw, one which has become an integral part of The Higher Self, in connection with the self-picture or ego-image which the individual has. This follows from the fact that the nose represents the self-image."
"With respect to the feet, We may point out that the sole of the foot (the plantar surface) bears a direct relationship to the major organs of the body. This is known from the study of Reflexology. A Plantar Wart is one on the sole, one which interferes with walking. The significance is that the afflicted individual is, in a sense, having trouble 'walking life's path' due to an unbalanced or flawed trait which is part of The Higher Self or Soul, and which is being signalled by the position of the wart on the map which the sole of the foot offers, a map of the major organs."
"Occultists know that each major organ of the body bears a direct relationship with some trait or facet of The Higher Self -- the heart denoting the love nature, the stomach denoting the ability to assimilate life's lessons, and so on -- and, in this manner, one can attempt to distinguish the particular area of experience, attitude, or action where the difficulty lies. We might say that a Plantar Wart is a wart on The Soul."
Food Allergies:
"With this problem of Food Allergies, an individual finds that he is not able to consume certain foodstuffs without a negative physical reaction occurring. This is almost invariably a karmic retribution for having denied another soul the very same foodstuffs to which the Allergy pertains."
"In some cases, where the action which brought pain to another was not as serious, The Allergy may only persist for a limited term of years and then disappear by itself. In other cases, where the transgression was particularly heinous, the affliction can be visited upon a soul for the entire duration of its physical existence."
Seizure Disorder:
"Considering the affliction known as Epilepsy, as has been pointed out by Edgar Cayce, an epileptic condition is almost always a form of retribution (self-imposed) for sexual excess in a prior life, and particularly for the forcing of sexual attentions upon another in such a way that harm or distress was caused to that person."
"In the cerebral disorientation and loss of controlled function that occur in an epileptic attack can be found that exact analogy, though with a greater involvement of the cerebral apparatus, of the point of climax during the sexual union. The transport of sensation which occurs in the sex act is not different in kind but only in degree from that which takes place during an epileptic seizure."
"Thus, the karmic retribution for the transgression is brought about by way of a similar though intensified experience to that of the sex act itself. An additional benefit is derived from the experience of Epilepsy, however, and this has to do with the learning at a subconscious level of the lesson pertaining to sexual excess. The soul (personality) is not aware consciously of the learning experience, but, at deeper levels, the lesson is taken at its true worth and is assimilated quite well in almost every instance of Epilepsy that has been utilized for this purpose."
Cancer:
"Within the general medical area, there have been few problems as difficult as that of Cancer. The number of different forms of Cancer appears to be limitless, and the way in which this affliction may be healed has eluded researchers except in certain types of the illness which are of a less serious nature."
"The basic approach to the healing of Cancer has to be by way of The New Science. We have said that all viral and bacterial infestations of the physical body are caused by the invasion of an aetheric disease agent (see 'Disease Agents'), which takes up residence in the body at The Aetheric Level and then proceeds to manufacture its own body which takes the form of either a virus or some other micro-organism."
"The disease of Cancer is not brought about by an agent of the same kind, even though some researchers believe that Cancer is viral in nature. This latter is not the case. In some situations, a secondary viral agent invades the body along with the Cancer, but it is not itself the cause of the Cancer."
"Cancer results from the invasion by an aetheric agent, not of the physical body or its aetheric counterpart, but rather of the Aura Itself (the energy field which surrounds and is supported by The Astral Body). This is the reason why those gifted with psychic vision are able to perceive, in The Aura of the cancer victim, a definite shadow or darker area which is situated adjacent to the portion of the physical body where the Cancer manifests."
"There is a very deep and hidden spiritual reason behind the illness which Man knows as Cancer. We have said, in discussing the basic idea of karma, that the result of bringing pain or harm to another in one life must be the endurance of a similar pain or harm in a subsequent part of the soul's physical existence, which may be in the same life or in another. The affliction of Cancer is not so much a specific retribution (self-imposed) for a specific act which brought pain to another. Instead, it is part of the learning process for the soul which is intended to prompt the soul to make faster progress, in a given area of spiritual assimilation, than has been the case up to the time of the affliction."

Consider the tendency, which many people today exhibit, to direct sarcastic or critical remarks at other people, and particularly at the spouse and members of the immediate family. Great pain of a psychological nature is inflicted daily by millions of souls who have not learned to chain up their tongues and keep still. It is considered, from a Higher Level of being, that a certain degree of assimilation and learning must be achieved in this particular lesson before a given soul can escape fom The Wheel of Rebirth and pass on to a higher school of spiritual learning."
"If a particular soul is judged not to have learned this lesson of sarcasm or criticism up to the point of 50%, i.e. if it has not been at least half-learned as judged by his behavior and attitudes toward others, then permission is given for a cancerous aetheric agent to invade The Aura, its natural, desired abode, and from this position to influence the cell formation and reproduction process in the adjacent part of the physical body in such a way as to give rise to the chaotic cell multiplication which has been called Cancer."
"However, the cancerous agent is allowed to occupy only that part of The Aura which is directly adjacent to a part of the physical body which is associated with the lesson that has not been at least 50% learned. In the case of sarcasm and criticism, which are expressed verbally by the expelling of air from the lungs through the larynx, it is usually the lungs which are selected as the site of the illness."
"Those who smoke cigarettes to excess will, to some extent, predispose their lungs to this malady, and, where the soul who must undergo the problem of Cancer is a heavy smoker, it is normally the lungs which are selected. However, in the case of those who smoke lightly or not at all, the Cancer would typically be allowed to involve the larynx which utters the harmful words or the brain which formulates them in the first place."
"Thus, it becomes clear why Cancer of the lungs is so commonly encountered today. It is not so much because of the smoking per se, but rather because so many people need to learn the lesson related to sarcasm and criticism, of which group a large percentage are habitual or heavy smokers. Indeed, the kind of nervous temperament which normally goes along with a tendency to be sarcastic or critical is precisely that which attracts a person to the habit of smoking."
"The other primary area for which the affliction of Cancer is used to promote lesson-learning is that of the sexual desires. Many souls have, for many lives, been steeped in sexual excess and over-emphasis to such a degree that they cannot be considered to have learned the basic lesson in this area to the point of 50%. In such cases, the cancerous aetheric agent is allowed to invade The Aura adjacent the reproductive organs and to center its activity there. We are discussing here Cancer of the prostate, of the ovaries, of the testicles, and of the womb (the uterus)."
"It is intended that the soul (the personality), at a quite subconscious level, should derive from the experience of Cancer the needed impetus toward greater effort in learning the lesson designated by the affliction, and it has been found that this technique of fostering greater spiritual achievement is largely successful."
"We have said that the approach to curing Cancer must be through a true grasp of its nature, and this has now been given. The way in which any form of Cancer can be cured is a two-fold process, similar to that relating to viral and bacterial diseases."
"The first step is to utilize an appropriate mixture of Inert Gases to generate a beam which will eject the cancerous aetheric agent from its position in The Aural Envelope. However, to ensure that this agent will not return, and thus to avoid the necessity of having to repeat the exposure at intervals for the rest of the soul's physical life, it is essential to bring to the conscious attention of the individual the nature of the lesson which he has not yet adequately learned. Once this is done, it is quite likely that spiritual progress, in terms of that particular lesson, can be made very quickly, for the fear of the return of Cancer is a great incentive toward success."
"When the individual arrives at the point where the particular lesson is at least half-way accomplished, then, from a Higher Level, his Aural Envelope will be repaired in order to eliminate the 'abscess' through which the cancerous aetheric agent originally entered. Thus, the curing of Cancer calls for a contribution on the part of the healer, another on the part of the patient, and yet another on the part of The Guides at a Higher Level Who have the individual soul in their care."

Psychosomatic Illness:
"In the case of Psychosomatic Illness (that caused by negative thought and emotion), the only permanent solution is the arrest of the destructive emotional patterns which give rise to the thought-forms and ultimately to the physical deterioration. This should also be coupled with dietary purification to give the body enough energy to tackle the task of tissue repair and a visualization technique aimed at promoting the repair of the damaged tissue. For this, of course, the patient will need to be taught the anatomy of his ailment."
"In this connection, We cannot emphasize too strongly how important it is for the patient himself to have a part to play in the healing process. That is the surest guarantee of success, for it means that the patient really wants to be cured. This statement may seem odd, since one would expect that all who suffer from bodily ills would wish to be healed. But such is not the case. At the conscious level, of course, all sufferers believe they want to be cured, however, the subconscious levels often do not wish the cure to take place for any number of reasons. For example, the mother who receives the solicitous attention of her family only when she is ill is an obvious case in which subconscious urges are bringing about the condition (illness) which allows this goal to be attained."
"By presenting to such a person the prospect of participating in the cure, a choice must be made as to whether a cure is really wanted. Where the individual secretly wishes to remain ill, the proposed visualization technique will be rejected."
"We touch here upon one of the most deplorable of human habits of thought. It is true that all who suffer are victims of themselves alone. But the universal view of the matter is one which states, 'Well, now I'm sick. It's up to the doctor to cure me'. In other words, no responsibility is taken by the patient for his own illness, much less for helping to cure it. We do not distinguish, by the way, between so-called contagious illness and others. All illnesses are generated and supported from within the patient himself, appearances to the contrary notwithstanding. It is Man, and Man alone, Who is responsible for all of his ills. The sooner The Race recognizes this fact, the sooner the battle against disease can be won."
