"When a person allows himself to be hypnotized by another, two important things occur. Firstly, the conscious will is partly suspended and comes under the authority and command of the hypnotist's will. Secondly, a passageway opens between the conscious mind and the unconscious mind of the person being hypnotized. Because of these 2 factors, it is possible to utilize hypnotism in order to probe subconscious blockages -- whether from the present life or from some past life -- so that these blocks can be removed or at least alleviated."
"There are many therapists currently using various forms of hypnotic regression in order to help their patients to be rid of problems and complexes which, in some cases, have been carted about from life to life for literally millennia. These healers are doing wonderful work on The Path and are to be encouraged."
"However, there are a few points which We wish to make regarding hypnotism and the trance state generally which will perhaps clear up certain misconceptions and allay certain fears that many people have when contemplating the matter of hypnotism. The most important thing to realize is that it is not necessary to be 'conducted' into the hypnotic trance by another."
"There are techniques by which any person may, with a little practice, learn how to place himself into a form of meditative trance while still retaining full conscious awareness -- a trance in which the subconscious can be instructed to deliver up any and all details of any past life which may be recorded there, thus allowing the experimenter to delve into these contents, understand the reasons for various phobias and complexes, rid himself of blockages, etc."
"However, We wish to emphasize that not all details of all past lives are available to the subconscious -- only those which have particular relevance to the present life. When an individual is born into a new incarnation, his Guides see to it that his subconscious is 'loaded' with certain material from past lives. This material is carefully screened and selected so that only that which is important for the life about to be lived will be stored."
"The second point We wish to make is that both the subconscious and the individual's Guides may decide to edit or block certain of the memories in the subconscious if it appears that the conscious personaltiy is not yet ready to face the truth. And the subconscious mind is more readily able to enter into contact with entities on other levels than is the conscious mind."
"It is the subconscious which actually enters into contact with other minds, and hypnotism is one technique for allowing the subconscious to make such contact. However, We point out that the nature of the entities which are attracted to any given individual is such that they always correspond vibrationally with that individual. Hence, if a coarse or unevolved individual were to attempt to enter into contact with entities on other levels, there is a likelihood that he would attract to himself only those at his same level of developement. It is unlikely that much of value could be learned from that kind of contact."
"To summarize, We may say that there are many forms of hypnotism, including self-hypnosis. Any delving into the subconscious contents -- whether by hypnosis, meditation, or otherwise -- can either allow a contact with other entities or permit a depth probing of the various memories, blockages, traumas, etc. that are at the root of problems in the present life."
"This technique has great possibilities for Mankind, for it can unlock many of the buried memories of past lives which have blocked progress in the present experience, and it can provide the gifts of self-approbation and confidence where these are lacking. But on the negative side, it can be used to enslave others whose minds and whose resistance are not strong, just as it was used in Atlantis. Indeed, many of the therapists who employ the hypnotic technique in their work today are the same ones who abused this great gift in Atlantis and who are seeking now to make up their failings by using it again -- but this time to give back the health and the happiness which once they took from their fellow man."
